The Neck
Part of the beauty of wood is the uniqueness of each piece.  This exclusive neck is made from purpleheart (Peltogyne pubesens).  The trademark purple-like color is striking and has gained extreme player guitar popularity. Purpleheart is a very hard, dense wood superb for excellent sustain and similar to exotic Bubinga woods in its thick well defined bottom.   The fret board is also purpleheart and has the very playable Stainless Steel Fret Wire for that extra slick feel along with super smooth bending and playability, this is the "stuff"!  Stainless steel is harder and it's life expectancy is much longer than standard fret wire.

The Pickups
A Ultra Jazz™ pickup set is just what its name implies: more of everything you want from a Jazz Bass "high-end" pickup.....and lots more.  They are fat, all funky, totally big, and completely hum canceling.  The Ultra Jazz™ set includes a special neck and extreme bridge pickup in a fully matched combination.  The hum-canceling Ultra Jazz takes a traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound and really opens it up.  Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings.  It's also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing.  There's only one word for this combination of qualities: musical.
